Portuguese school will establish radio contact via satellite with the Station in Antarctica

Students from the Baixa da Banheira Secondary School, Praceta Maria Helena Vieira da Silva, Vale da Amoreira, with the support of the Portuguese Broadcasters Network – REP, will establish radio contact via satellite QO-100 with the scientific station Neumayer III located in Antarctica .

We invite you to participate in this educational and cultural event.
We also have the Qualifica Center with a program aimed at training adults, with various EFA courses. It partners with territorially based networks, namely with REBM – Rede de Empregabilidade
Barreiro/Moita and the IEFP – Institute for Employment and Vocational Training.

About REP – Portuguese Broadcasters Network

REP is the oldest Association of Radio Amateurs in Portugal, with 96 years of existence.

It was founded in 1926, being constituted by Permit of the Civil Government of Lisbon on March 5, 1930, and by Decree-Law n.º 36 438, of July 29, 1947. It has been a Public Utility institution since July 10 1980. It is the representative in Portugal of international organizations, namely the IARU – International Amateur Radio Union, of which it is a founding member, and a member of ARISS Europe.
It is a non-profit private law institution, exclusively composed of Amateurs, Researchers and Explorers of Radio and Communication Technologies, through the emission and reception of signals in medium and short waves, high frequencies and microwaves, aerospace and digital communications. .
